Just a follow up to the previous post. Dems Says Pentagon Using Scare Tactics:
WASHINGTON (AP) - In their latest tussle with the White House on the Iraq war, two leading House Democrats said Tuesday the Pentagon was using scare tactics to try to goad Congress into passing another war spending bill.
And Reps. David Obey and John Murtha said they won’t budge. Obey, D- Wis., chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, and Murtha, D- Pa., head of the panel’s Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, said they won’t support more money for the war this year unless President Bush accepts a timetable for troop withdrawals.
Last week, the House passed a $50 billion bill that would keep operations afloat for several more months, but sets a goal of bringing most troops home by December 2008. After Bush threatened to veto the measure, Senate Republicans blocked it.
Ok, I won’t deny that I am very biased towards our military. In fact I personally believe it is one of the few powers that the Federal government was actually given under the constitution. With that disclosure out of the way, when will the average American realize that this current Congress is either very close to or already has betrayed American security past the point of repair? Seriously, if we don’t have the balls to stick out a fight we are winning, how will we have the balls to fight a war that could go either way?
Look around the world right now, our enemies are rallying around a weak America. Liberals would have you believe that if it weren’t for George Bush and his “failed policies”, that the world would love America unconditionally. These are the same people who believed the cold war would go away if President Reagan weren’t such a stubborn dick. They were wrong then and they are wrong now. Stop trying to cut America’s balls off to please the other pussy countries of the world. America must show its resolve to the rest of the world or we’ll be fighting a nuclear China and Russia instead of a bunch of misguided towel heads holding an express ticket to hell.

I have long argued (mostly with my wife) that the women’s movement is primarily responsible for the decline in America. Women’s rights are great, I wouldn’t change that, but with most women now in the workplace the American quality of life has eroded. Huh? Sounds a little sexiest doesn’t it? It is but let me attempt to illustrate what I am referring to here. What have we as a society gained by having working mom’s in every business?
As a nation we have seen the quality of our schools decrease as they have had to take on more of a role in raising the students. Our children today are not getting the attention from their family they need because the parents are too involved with work. Divorce rates have soared without the stability of the traditional family roles. We have seen household incomes increase two fold which at first was great but now has driven up costs across the board almost making it mandatory to have two wage earners in the family. Obesity in America has skyrocket because we have become dependent on fast food to make up for the lack of cooking from the woman in the house. Our politician’s tell us we need immigrant labor to make up for a shortage in the workplace. A shortage that wouldn’t exist if women weren’t given the right to murder their own children.
Anyway, now that I have exposed myself as a chauvinistic pig, here is an interesting and somewhat related article on the budget crisis in middle income families: From MSNBC.com Life is harder now, some experts say:
Shopping malls are packed every weekend. Restaurants can’t open fast enough. Everyone seems to be wearing designer shoes, jackets and jeans and sipping $4 lattes. Credit card commercials constantly advocate splurging and, it seems, U.S. consumers are all too ready to comply.
So what’s the problem? Why do so many middle class Americans with so much stuff say they feel so squeezed? If they are dogged by debt, isn?t it their own fault?
Perhaps, some experts say, things are not as they appear.

So Barack Obama is now using faith to justify environmental hysteria? Obama Links Faith to Environmentalism:
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama said Sunday that his religious beliefs influence his plans for how to protect the environment.
Speaking before religious leaders and others at what he called an “interfaith forum on climate change,” the Illinois senator said God has entrusted humans with the responsibility of caring for the earth, and “we are not acting as good stewards of God’s earth when our bottom line puts the size of our profits before the future of our planet.”
“It is our responsibility to ensure that this planet remains clean and safe and livable for our children and for all of God’s children,” he told about 200 people gathered at the downtown public library. “But in recent years, science has made it undeniably clear that our generation is not living up to this responsibility. Global warming is not a someday problem, it is now.”
Personally, my faith is what leads me to believe global warming is an absolute joke. I’m not saying we can’t make the Earth heat up a tiny bit, I just don’t believe man is capable of destroying it. It is clear from scripture that there are people on Earth when Christ returns. If global warming can destroy the Earth how would this be possible? Perhaps Barack should read the Bible before he claims to know God’s desire for us on the planet He created. This is simply a bum politician trying to woo fence sitters by using flowery language to invoke a greater purpose in people. Or as I like to call it, a deceptive plan to destroy capitalism and create a socialist state.

ABCNews.com has posted excerpts of the long awaited Osama bin Laden video. How exciting! My favorite part isn’t the insane rambling of bin Laden, it’s the insane rambling of user comments. I feel like I have already done this today but here are a couple more of the thought provoking crap these retards spew:
Mr. Bin Laden always seems to pop up just when the White House needs him most to distract the American people from what’s really going on. And the fake beard? Try fake video– if Youtubers can produce special effects to rival Geroge Lucas on a Mac, how hard do you think it is for the government, backed by the latest in technology, to do the same with some old Bin Laden footage? Just for once, consider the source of all this media alarmist propaganda, and ask yourselves– who benefits? Not any of us, that’s for sure.

Osama bin Laden is a religious conservative.
George W Bush is a religious conservative.
These guys are opposite sides of the same koo koo coin.
They thrive on one another.
They need one another.
Without OBL, GWB wouldn’t be in office now.
Thanks to GWB, there is an incredibly effective terrorist training camp called “Iraq”.
The conservative mentality will destroy the world.

Ah the wisdom! How could we have been so wrong? It must be the conservative movement that will destroy the world, at least according to jc. News flash for you jc and your dim witted buddy h5mind, America was attacked by a group of terrorist swine almost six years ago today. It isn’t the conservative mentality that will destroy the world, it is the ignorance of ass clowns like you that conservatism is trying to protect. The more I hear from idiots like these two above, I have to wonder if it really is worth fighting to protect the liberties of those too retarded to understand what is at stake?

Presidential hopeful and full time hair product model John Edwards thinks America is ready to give up driving SUV’s. North Carolina ABC 13 has the story: Edwards: Americans should sacrifice their SUVs
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a labor group he would ask Americans to make a big sacrifice: their sport utility vehicles.
The former North Carolina senator told a forum by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, yesterday he thinks Americans are willing to sacrifice.
Why should we stop John? Because you asked us nicely? Hogwash. Despite the article title of this post I don’t begrudge Edwards’ compensation for his previous work (our legal system does need some serious fixing but that is a story for another day). He worked hard and made his money, end of story. On the same hand though, the rest of America also works hard for what they have and if they choose to drive an SUV over a gay magnet Prius more power to them. Are we really going to allow the government to tell us what kind of car we can buy? This is America, home of the automobile, it’s not going to happen here John, unless you sue every American who chooses to exercise their free choice.

I don’t get the madness of illegal immigrant’s and their supporters. I’m sure by now everyone knows about Elvira Arellano, an illegal Mexican immigrant, who sought sanctuary in Chicago at a Methodist church for a year. She was recently deported back to Mexico after speaking at a rally in Los Angeles. So what does the moonbat do back home? How about go before the Mexican congress and whine about the injustice of being deported. From USAtoday.com, Mexican Senate sides with mom deported from USA:
MEXICO CITY (AP) A Mexican Senate committee passed a measure Wednesday urging President Felipe Calderon to send a diplomatic note to the United States protesting the deportation of an illegal migrant who took refuge in a Chicago church for a year.
The committee also approved a scholarship to help her 8-year-old U.S.-born son, Saul, who is an American citizen and stayed in the United States.
So let me get this straight, the Mexican government will give asylum to suspected murders that would face the death penalty here in the US, but we don’t have the right to deport those who break our laws back to the country they came from? Elvira continues on:
“For me it is very important that our government take a strong stand to defend all of us who decide to migrate to another country,” she said.
Hmm, so every time you break a law in the country you want to migrate to, you expect your previous country to step in and pressure your new country to let you off the hook? This chick is absolutely nuts! If Mexico is such a great place and a protector of your perceived freedom to break another countries laws when ever those laws prevent you from doing what you want, why did you leave Mexico in the first place? Maybe we can start trading some of the liberal scum that clogs this nation’s arteries for more cheap labor. How many day workers can I get for Cindy Sheehan?

Las Vegas is currently scrambling to meet their future water needs which they will apparently fall short of as early as 2010. Lasvegasnow.com has an article up here that describes a bit of the problem:
There is a serious problem with the future of our water supply. New data shows the drought worsening, and proposed water projects falling short of the future needs.
The warmest July on record in Las Vegas with an average of 107 degrees and half of the normal rainfall for the month didn’t help. This is a race against the worsening drought. A race against population growth and a race against running out of water in Las Vegas.
Very interesting and very alarming, since I love going to Vegas. Problem is the article is ever so slightly misleading. From the National Climatic Data Center web site located here:
However, the persistent atmospheric pattern that brought cooler than average temperatures to the East contributed to record and near-record warmth in the West. The warmest July since statewide records began in 1895 occurred in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Nevada had its second warmest July and Arizona and Utah their third warmest Julys on record. Alaska was 1.2F (0.7C) warmer than the 1971-2000 mean in July.
Maybe it is all the global warming hysteria lately that leads people to believe that the weather is more extreme than in years past but that doesn’t excuse lazy reporting. This article leads one to assume that global warming is one of the factors contributing to the problem. Unfortunately for you chicken little’s that believe global warming will destroy us, the average July temperature in Las Vegas is 106 degrees. I’m not a mathematician but if 107 is the second highest and 106 is the average, it would have to be pretty close to 106 every July to have 106 as the average.
So why point out a possible simple mistake that would usually not change the story much if any? Because I fear this is intentional information propaganda to influence people’s belief in global warming. A single story in and of itself is not enough but when there is a steady stream of information seemingly attempting to sway one’s opinion we must do what we can to counter balance it. Perhaps it really is as simple as people being more sensitive to weather change these days or it could, as I believe, be part of a sinister attempt to cripple this country.

A few days ago I wrote about the proposed increase to the Federal gas tax, Maintain roads? Let?s raise taxes!!. Today, here’s the most absurd tax I have ever heard of from CBS2Chicago.com, Alderman Wants To Tax Bottled Water:
As CBS 2’s Kristyn Hartman reports, Ald. George Cardenas (12th) wants to slap a tax of up to 25 cents on the cost of every bottle to help close a $217 million budget gap.
“People enjoy jogging or driving with a bottle of water. There’s a cost associated with this behavior. You have to pay for it,” said Cardenas, one of Mayor Richard M. Daley’s staunchest City Council supporters.
Luckily this is a local Chicago issue but I believe it is a good example of the tax everything mentality that more and more politicians seem to have. By the way Mr. Cardenas, we do pay for the “behavior” of having a bottle of water and I am also sure that the city of Chicago gets a small cut in the form of sales tax from our “behavior”.
While this seems pretty crazy, we really have no one to blame for politicians finding more and more things to tax except ourselves. When a majority of the population thinks a tobacco tax is justified because they view the product being taxed as “evil or bad” this kind of crap happens. There will always be someone out there who doesn’t like a product for whatever reason and a politician will view that product as a new revenue stream. You’ve been hoodwinked America, you let the cat out of the bag and now there is no turning back.

Stu Bykofsky wrote a piece for The Philly Daily News with the premise that America needs another 9/11 in order to unite the country again, To save America, we need another 9/11:
Remember the community of outrage and national resolve? America had not been so united since the first Day of Infamy - 12/7/41.
We knew who the enemy was then.
We knew who the enemy was shortly after 9/11.
Because we have mislaid 9/11, we have endless sideshow squabbles about whether the surge is working, if we are “safer” now, whether the FBI should listen in on foreign phone calls, whether cops should detain odd-acting “flying imams,” whether those plotting alleged attacks on Fort Dix or Kennedy airport are serious threats or amateur bumblers. We bicker over the trees while the forest is ablaze.
America’s fabric is pulling apart like a cheap sweater.
What would sew us back together?
Another 9/11 attack.
The Golden Gate Bridge. Mount Rushmore. Chicago’s Wrigley Field. The Philadelphia subway system. The U.S. is a target-rich environment for al Qaeda.
Is there any doubt they are planning to hit us again?
I really think this is an over simplification on the author’s part. He points out that we “bicker over the trees while the forest is ablaze”. Isn’t that exactly what he is doing here? Viewing the war in a vacuum and coming to the conclusion that this event is “pulling America’s fabric apart like a cheap sweater” is foolish at best.

So what have you done with your summer? Probably laid around, cooked a few burgers, hit the beach, checked out girls in bikinis, and maybe even got in some time with your hobbies. If you joined al qaeda, you could have spent your summer making a really crappy movie reliving the few brief accomplishments of your terrorist prick buddies. Hmm, let me see, girls in bikinis or pansies wearing bed sheets fantasizing jihad? Tough call.
What might you ask is the point of all this, surely any real man would chose girls in bikinis. Exactly, but tonight’s focus isn’t on real men, we are discussing al qaeda here. Know who else is talking about our favorite cave dwelling friends who will soon find out that there very well may be 72 virgins in hell but they won’t be women? The New York Sun has a story here and the Blotter over at ABCnews.com has a story here. Apparently al qaeda thinks Hollywood isn’t putting out enough blockbuster’s this year so they created their own. You can read more about the film at the above two links but below are a few critic’s reviews of “The Big Surprise”, a film by al qaeda, directed by al qaeda, funded by the Saudis, Iran, and Russia, and starring the al qaeda break out star Adam Gadahn:
It sucks. –Fishdeck.com
I own that set of napkins he is wearing. –Fishdeck.com
Wouldn’t it be easier to search for ticks if they shaved? –Fishdeck.com
The trailer for next spring’s Hezbollah movie was better than the main feature. –Fishdeck.com
I thought it was going to be a surfer movie when I saw the main character was from the OC. –Fishdeck.com
I guess we won’t be seeing Adam Gadahn on next season’s “On the Lot”, even Fox wouldn’t show this amateur crap. Dirka Dirka.
Updated:
The Jawa Report has more on the video here, complete with glamorous screen shots. Man those al qaeda video technicians suck, I would hate to see just how retarded the suicide bombers are if this is the cream of their techno crop.
