It’s surgery time!!

So how much fun does a tonsillectomy sound like? The first thing I usually think of is ice cream, mounds and mounds of glorious ice cream. Really, that is all there is to it. Make an appointment with your ENT, pony up a thousand dollars or so, and then stand in line at local creamery to start indulging. Easy as 1-2-3!

Since I have to go through this lovely procedure (ok, already did  a few days ago, little late posting) I though I would use this otherwise semi-useless space to document my recovery. I would like to get some information out there for those about to go through this because most of the things I read had me crying like a girl weeks before even heading into the procedure. Needless to say, I had quite the anxiety leading into this surgery; both about the surgery itself but more than anything the recovery. So what is happening?

Let’s see, I am now on day 2 post op (had surgery the morning of August 6th) and so far things seem to be going okay. Over the next week or so I will chronicle here all of the exciting things that go on in life when you have had part of your throat ripped out violently. If I get a chance I will post a picture or two of my tonsil craters, they really are sexy! Stay tuned!!
